The New Street Signal box is one of them. Brutal, unapologetic, and utterly unique, it has stood watch over Birmingham’s railway lines since the 1960s. With its layered concrete massing, deep shadow lines, and fortress-like stance, it remains one of the most distinctive signal boxes ever built in Britain.
Made to feel personal, whether you passed it every day on your commute, stood beneath it on a platform, or simply admired its defiance.
This model holds that feeling. It works as a quiet centrepiece, a conversation starter, or a way to honour one of Birmingham’s most iconic Brutalist survivors. A reminder that beauty doesn’t always ask for permission.

The form is deceptively complex. Each face carries a different rhythm, a different weight. Getting the sharpness right in the casting, especially at this scale, meant starting from scratch more than once. But it was worth it."
