Designed in 1964 by Maija Isola, Unikko has become a renowned symbol of print design worldwide. Marimekko founder Armi Ratia believed that real flowers could not be fully captured in print, so they were initially not included in collections. However, Maija Isola's abstract approach to Unikko has transformed it into a timeless representation of joy and creativity, deeply ingrained in Marimekko's design identity.
