Founded in 1945 by Yngve and Jerker Ekström with Sven Bertil Sjöqvist, Swedese is a renowned Swedish furniture producer known for its timeless Scandinavian designs. Based in Vaggeryd, Sweden, with a second factory in Äng near Nässjö, Swedese continues to craft designer furniture under the ownership of Elisabeth Johansson.

Yngve Ekström, a pivotal figure in Scandinavian Modern design, created Swedese's iconic Lamino armchair in 1956, celebrated as the Twentieth Century's Best Swedish Furniture Design by Sköna Hem magazine in 1999.
