Founded in 1872 by Danish designer Fritz Hansen, the company initially focused on crafting cabinets before evolving into a flourishing workshop renowned for quality craftsmanship. In the 1930s, Hansen’s son Christian introduced steam bending beech, revolutionising furniture design with curvaceous and modern pieces. Over the years, Fritz Hansen collaborated with Scandinavian designers, notably Arne Jacobsen, leading to iconic designs like the Egg™, Swan™, and Series 7™ chairs. In 1979, after 107 years, the company was acquired by Skandinavisk Holding, which revitalised Fritz Hansen through strategic investments and expansions. Today, Fritz Hansen is an esteemed international design brand known for its Classic Collection featuring timeless masterpieces and a Contemporary Collection that showcases innovative designs from modern global talents like Jaime Hayon and Piero Lissoni.
