The Vitra Eames Desk Unit EDU, designed by Charles and Ray Eames, is part of a new system of free-standing multifunctional shelves and writing desks.

Similar to the Eames House that dates from the same time, the shelves and desks were constructed strictly in-keeping with the principles of industrial mass production. The Eames Storage Units are known as ‘ESU’, and Eames Desk Units as ‘EDU’. The desk is ideal for the home office, with a practical, functional aesthetic consisting of a large desk space combined with shelving for computer towers, filing or catalogues and books.
