DAX Eames Plastic Armchair

The DAX Armchair was first designed in 1948 and presented at the New York Museum of Modern Art competition ‘Low-Cost Furniture Design’. Their organically shaped plastic seat shells were later combined with various different bases and manufactured in their millions. In their latest version made of polypropylene, the armchairs now offer even greater sitting comfort. Vitra have retained Charles and Ray Eames’ idea of combining a comfortable seat with different bases, in order to achieve the widest use for the chair. With various bases, the Eames Plastic Armchair is suitable for the home, cafés, offices, lobbies or waiting rooms and training areas.
