Sustainable Design

Sustainability is a growing concern in the design world. This has been reflected in a more careful choice of materials, where brands are looking at the use of recyclable materials but also at production methods that are socially fair.
This comes at a time where consumers place more importance on the making of the pieces they buy, on their origin, and on the materials and techniques sourced to do.

Way Series by Ferm Living

By upcycling used plastic bottles, the Way series presents an incredibly durable line of sustainable designs that can be used outside.

The woven recycled polyester gives the items a lovely texture in colours associated with the maritime motif. The pieces have a classic look with a twist created by the asymmetry of the fringes along the sides.

Pappelina Rugs

Can a plastic rug be sustainable?

PVC is made from natural resources such as salt, oil and ethylene and, thanks to its composition, is 100% recyclable as it can easily be melted down and reused.

PVC has an extremely long lifespan. A Pappelina rug lasts for many years as long as our recommended care instructions are followed. This is an important environmental aspect, our carpets are not a wear and tear product that end up being thrown away into the natural environment. When you buy a rug from Pappelina, it comes with a  3-year warranty.
